One characteristic of glaucoma is sustained increase of intraocular pressure which damages visual function, leading to the results of optic atrophy, visual field loss, hypopsia, and patients could get completely blind within 24-48 hours of acute attack. Glaucoma belongs to double eye diseases, both eyes can get sick simultaneously, or one single eye gets sick firstly and results in secondary binocular blindness.
